His father was a bookbinder, and his family was of the Middle Class. He study at the University of Munster, hardly was recruited into the German army at the maturate of 18. He fought on the Western front and was wounded 5 whiles, the last being severe. subsequently the war he became a teacher, and sometimes worked as a sportswriter and racing-car driver. In 1928 his first base book, Im Western Nichts Neues (All Quiet on the Western Front), was first released, and it pronto made Remarque famous at age thirty-three. A sprout based on the book, with the same(p) name, because an instant success in 1930. In 1931, the sequel, titled The driveway Back, was released. While it did not do as well, it was still more or less successful. Remarque moved to Switzerland in 1932. His books were banned by the Nazis in 1933 and he lost his G erman Citizenship in 1938.
